Hi,

Novice programmer here. Does anyone know if I can use the Addressbook frameworks in an app I wrote in Cocoa Java?

Cocoa-Java (would that be mocha?) can use any ObjC classes from any frameworks. You'll just need to link the specific frameworks you need and "wrap" the ObjC classes in Java classes -- see http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/...aBridge.5.html for details.

Where is the Java Wrapper project that they refer to? I have the 10.2 Developer tools with the August update, and when I choose New Project, that project type is not in the list (Under Java, I just have stuff like Java AWT, Java Swing, Java Applet, Java Tool, etc).

Unfortunately, the Java wrapper documentation is out dated. When you create a new project in PB, you can select Java Wrapper as a project type. BTW, what is up with the Windoze screen shots at http://developer.apple.com/techpubs...vaBridge.5.html

Any other suggestions for accessing the AddressBook framework from a Mocha (Cocoa-Java) app.

That's remarkably unhelpful - I am staring at my New Project dialog right now and there is no "Java Wrapper" project type - at all. Is this an add-on?

OK, I guess this is something that used to be there and isn't anymore. I too thought the Windows screen shots were a little werid.

Well, I have imported the AddressBiij frameworks, but If I try to use ABAddressBook or any other class, I get an error Class not found. Anyone know what the next step might be after importing the frameworks?
