those are binaries of executable code -- they're tied specifically to the architecture (probably x86) and libraries they're built for.

... that said, you can often download the source and compile Mac OS X-based libraries to gain whatever functionality the library provides.

ok, thanks! i will now try to get the company to give me the source to compile it myself, or at least them to compile it by getting a mac os x box.
