This looks amazing!
It is a front end client for giFT which is a project to allow file sharing over multiple protocols.

Also, does anyone have a real Kazaa client for OS X? (I've tried Neo . . .)

I would love to help beta test giFTBox!

giFTBox is an open source project that, as your link demonstrates, is available through sourceforge. Their website lists instructions for how to download and compile the project. You would want to report bugs back to them, of course. If you do any coding, you can do that as well.

giFT is an open source way to consolidate interaction with multiple file sharing protocols into one API.
openFT is a new file trading protocol being developed.
giFTbox is one of many GUI clients written to provide a front end to the giFT API.

Has anyone gotten the latest source to compile on OS X?

I can't get it to configure.

I have giFT running on Mac OS X (10.2).

I did following to get it to compile:

1. Got automake (1.6), autoconf (2.5), libtool from Fink.
2. Had to get zlib from http://www.gzip.org/zlib. because fink doesn't include zlib for Jaguar. Version is 1.3 is included in Jaguar but you need 1.4.
3. Got giFT from CVS.
4. Make a new directory ".libs" in OpenFT
5. Run autogen.macosx.sh
6. configure failed for me. Run it again with arguments:
./configure ppc --disable-libdl --with-zlib="path_to_zlib1.4
5. make

ok, um, where can we find giftbox?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/giftbox/ ??

No files are listed there.

and giftbox.sf.net is just a directory listing.
