Apple used to have a programming `language' for kids called cocoa.

http://www.kidsdomain.com/games/cocoa/download.html

I just tried to run it again for my son and it crashes under classic.

I assume this cocoa never got updated for OS X?

Any suggestions for something simple and graphical to make simple
games in ?

Thanks - Michael

PS. Purely out of interest does anyone know if the same name denotes
some connection ?

There is no connection between Cocoa and Cocoa (for Kids) formely known as Kidsim. Kurt Schmucker wrote this software while working for the Apple Learning Technologies Group. This was an amazing application because it was one of the first simulation applications for children. I used it in some research projects I was doing while pursuing my PhD. Very, very cool. You can now find the application at a company called Stagecast. (www.stagecast.com)

As a side note. I believe that one of the reasons Apple is losing the education market is because all types of research like Kurt was doing has been killed. Steve Jobs may have brought them back from the brink of disaster but he is one of the main reasons that Apple is losing the education market! He just doesn't get.

Just my 2 cents.
Enjoy the fruits of Apple's former research.
