I am trying to put together a site for an artist.

My plan was to do the navigation in Flash and use a html frame to load the images into.

Here is the prototype and first stumbling block........

http://www.hodsign.com/trg/index.html

......it loads fine, but I if I then hit refresh I get scrollbars appearing ( IE 5.1, Mac OS X 10.1 ).

First question, does hitting refresh make scrollbars magically appear for you?

Second question, can anyone explain this phenomenom?

Hey Skalie,

I also see your problem in Internet Explorer for X. How odd!

As for the solution, you may want to try writing "noresize" in the frame tags, just prior to the ends of the tags. I'm not a frame expert, but I have seen this used before.

See ya,

Thanks moogatoo, but no dice, the scrollbar still magically appears after refreshing.

What did amuse me was the comment I found when researching the "noresize" tag on Google......

"NORESIZE is the single most hated feature in frames. By disabling resizing, you are forbidding the user from adjusting the screen more optimally. If your text or logo doesn't quite fit in the space allowed, the user is left to wonder what they are missing, and this just makes your site look bad. Avoid NORESIZE"

........sod it, I'm going to do the site completely in flash, a lot more fun then spending my trying to work out the enigma that is frames.

Nice site you've got in your sig btw, looks very clean.
