Hey guys,

I've recently bought a book about writing apps in cocoa from Aaron Hillegass. It's a great book, but I'm facing some problems... i do understand how project builder and interface builder works, but I dont totaly understand the language, that is, I have no background in Obj-C or C or whatever. Can you give me any advice on a web page that could give me some lights in Obj-C? I've already did a google search for it, but so many pages were found that i dont know which one is best for my zero knowledge.

Thanks in advance

Tiago

Apple's developer site has a great book on Objective-C. I think it gets installed on your mac with the developer tools too. Look in /Developer/Documentation.

Well, I'd say the first thing to do is learn C. As far as I know, there are still no pages that teach them together. And if you don't know basic C syntax, you are going to be kind of screwed.

For good sites, I'd suggest looking through the Google Directory. There are too many to read all the pages, but it should be few enough for you to choose one that sounds good.

Thanks Hayesk and Chuckit!

Going to read the Apple tutorials and going to take a look at the C language tutorials also. I've got a lot of interest in importing an app to the Mac platform that is based in shockwave movies. It's entirely made in flash and dreamweaver. Do you guys think that it will be very difficult to import this app to the Mac platform, by writing an installler for the app and a way of it to work?

It'll take some time. Make sure you work through Aaron's book first, do the challenges at the end of some of the chapters too.
