There were a few rumors of Developer CDs going out last week but nothing on the website. Anyone know when the next version of Developer tools will be coming out? There are a few bug fixes and features I'm really anxiously awaiting.

The way to get the latest tools (as of this post) is to install the ones Jag came with (called the July 2002 Tools) then d/l and apply the Aug 2002 patch, then the new Oct 2002 patch.

The Aug patch contains a good deal of fixes, the Oct one is small. From the website, "[the Oct. patch] reverts the nibtool to the version supplied in Mac OS X 10.2 Developer Tools (released July 2002)."

Hope this helps.

Dang. I was hoping they had fixed that annoying fact that watch variables disappear between debugging sessions. That's been keeping me from using Project Builder for debugging seriously.

Have you reported the bug through ADC?

I posted bugs during Jaguar beta (from WWDC) and it was nice how you got to see it's status change and so forth. Furthermore when it was fixed they asked me to duplicate it now (to verify the fix) and sure enough it was.

I reported it about a month ago when I first made the attempt to move to a Mac for primary debugging. The watch window in Project Builder are so poorly designed that I went back to Visual Studio in Windows. (I hate Codewarrior, although it is a tad better than Project Builder but is *so* slow)

I'm truly hoping the next version of the developer tools has an improved debugger. I'm frankly surprised it went this many years without it!

Do you guys have a developer membership higher than online? I'm just an online member and I don't seem to have access to the RadarWeb bug reporter.

Which really sucks. As I see it, I'm perfectly capable of contributing valuable bug reports, but I don't see any way of going about doing it.

I am a Student member but according to this FAQ all ADC members (even Online) should be able to register bugs:

http://developer.apple.com/faq/techs...html#submitbug

If you are a current online ADC member and can't do this email ADC support.
