hola everyone,

I'm building a site and testing it internally using an local web server.

I've used the NetInfo Manager in OSX to resolve the staging domain internally. so say i have it at testing.mysite.com with the internal IP address.

it works fine in all my OSX apps but i want to see it in Netscape 4 in classic mode. i get an address not found everytime i try.

does anyone know where the hosts file is in the mac 9 system folder or somehow to make classic apps get their network info from the NetInfo Manager?

thx in advance

I have this same dilema. I also have a local dev server in OS X (ok it ships with one, but I've set it up using net info manager to use testing domains for the local sites). I'd like to view them in IE5 in classic mode before going live with the new code & changes because the site base target group is Mac users OS9.x-X 10.x and higher.

However I can't get classic to see my local sites. 127.0.0.1 does not even work. Anyone know how to get this going?

In the tcp control panel when u set the user mode to advanced there is an option to select a hosts file.

Search appples knowlegebase for the format.
