I am thinking about building some a site that will build its own image gallery. I want to maybe create a page, where I define what image will have what comment, and other info showing up in the browser, then the script would save the info to a database, create a thumbnail and update my gallery page. I have some PHP background, but it is very basic. I would like to learn more about MySQL and PHP and possibly create this database driven site. What books or resources would you guys suggest using for something like this.

Thank you,

t

I found another really good resource. There were some typos in the actual coding, but after some troubleshooting I found what the issues were and the gallery is up and running. Here is the link:

edit: What follows is in no way relevant to your original request, but anyways..............

If you are any good with flash check out the book by this guy, www.phpforflash.com.

I've owned quite a few books on php, but they are mostly more reference then fun.

Phpforflash on the other hand explains everything quite clearly and with humour, and I find that I keep returning to it to check out basic concepts that I've forgotten, like syntax and stuff.
