We are having alot of problems with our web-site of late. We run a G4 800 w/512mb of ram for our web server.

Our problem is that when you go to a page, not all of the graphics will load. All the sources are correct and the images are in the server. It seems as if the server just quits on trying to load all the images on a page. If you revisit that page, the missing images will more than likely load correctly.

We had the server on a 2.5mb/800k DSL line and thought that might be our problem, so we co-located it with our ISP on their network and we have the same problems.

I don't know if we have a hardware problem or if it's something in the page itself. It is a brand new machine, (3 months old), and we have reformatted it twice and did a complete re-install but to no avail.

We run Executron's PIMS software, which is an all-in-one software.....don't know if anyone if familiar with it.

Take a look at our site www.wmsracing.com .

Thanks for any help!

Are you sure you can blame the server? Have you tried various browsers on various platforms?

Check your logs to see if there are requests coming in for each of the images. You should see a request for the HTML page, and then requests for each of the include files (stylesheets, etc) and each of the images.

If you do not see the requests in the log file, possibly suspect something in your HTML causing the browser to not request them. If you do see the requests, you may also see an error code or status code. Depeding on your webserver, these may be different numbers. Check with the vendor for details.

If your server log shows a proper request and a valid status, then you have some work to do.

Have you tried your page without the image rollover and random image JavaScripts? I'd make an alternate page without them just for testing.

Your server does seem slow. Perhaps some of the requests are just timing out.

Also, it may not affect performance, but why not use relative paths for your image sources (for example "/wmsweb/wmsgifs/b_e-stored_on.gif" instead of "http://www.wmsracing.com/wmsweb/wmsgifs/b_e-store_on.gif").
