I am looking for a way to import my digital photos into ~/Photos/Current Date/..

I have looked into doing that via Apple Script and even tried to take apart Simple Import example for Image Cappture SDK, but have failed miserably.

Have not coded since 386, pascal, demo parties .... ah, those were the days.

Thanks

not sure that I can help directly - but have a look at how iphoto stores photos - they are sorted in folders by date e.g.:

~/picture/iphoto library/2002/11/05

so maybe iPhoto does what you need already.

I am aware of iPhoto's method for storing photos. However, iPhoto becomes a slow dog once you have 700-1000 images in the library ... too slow.

So I use a program called PhotoGridX ... very fast and simple.

I would love to have a small dialog popup on camera insert that you ask where would you like to save the photos ... if I could just type ~/Photos/Blah! ... it would be amazing ...
