Hello all,

does anyone know of an API or simple way to allow a program record sound from any input to a file? i feel like there must be something in QuickTime that lets you specify the file type / codec / settings to use, which input to get it from, and where to start writing to, but I wasn't able to uncover anything that looked like what I wanted. Maybe AppleScript can help. Yes, I'm pretty new to the Mac OS X programming game.

All help is appreciated. Thanks a lot!
