Hi, I was wondering if anyone has found a way to eject a CD on start up? I have a Foundation Tool that will eject CD's from the commandline, and I set up it up to run as a StartupItem, and it even runs (I had it print out a file), but it seems like CDs don't get mounted until later in the boot process. So I was wondering if anyone has found a way to have a CD be ejected while the computer boots up (preferably be the time the Loginwindow comes up).

Thanks,
Matt Fahrenbacher

I think you can do it manually by holding down the mouse button while starting up. This worked under OS 9, not sure about X.
Geekspiff - generating spiffdiddlee software since before you began paying attention.

Yeah I know, but that's not what I want. I'm deploying OS X in a lab, so I need CD's kicked out on boot. We use a rebuild system that works off a CD, so I need that CD to be kicked out (or any other CD that's in the drive) when the system boots.

Thanks though,
Matt

If every mac are the same, you can made a StartupItems script with this command in it:
disktool -e disk2
