It doesn't really work like that.. you don't just 'come across' proprietary code which has never been released to the public in any form. What you are asking is for someone to obtain the code from KaZaa/FasTrak, either by requesting it from them (why would they say yes?) or disassembling the original program (illegal).

We have asked em several times and not even gotter areply email, And I figured if the kids who made kazaa lite did what they did. The SC might be out there, which we could really use.

They're the same program. All the lite people did was replace a few dlls and perhaps patch a few jmp instructions in the kazaa binary.

You want the source for kazaa? Grab yourself a copy of softice and get to work. It's all there in assembly. It would be far easier for your project to watch the kazaa traffic with a packet sniffer and decode the protocol though.

From what I understand, Kazaa uses some sort of special encryption or something of the sort to prevent third-party clients from joining in on the fun. This is why Neo has had to use the brute-force method.

THe protocol is encoded frequently from what I hear, so its changed all the time, so even if you crack it, it will change soon.
