Can the GCC which comes with Mac OS X generate a Linux executable? I am trying to build a simple C-library program and I don't have a compiler available for Linux.

Got to thinking about my previous answer and decided it sucked.
You CAN build elf binaries for Linux x86, but you'll need to build a cross complier, binutils, and any libraries you might link against.
A Google search for "gcc cross compiler" should get you started.

You might consider Compaq/HP Test Drive as well. I don't believe it's as restrictive as sourceforge.

Doesn't Linux come with compilers preinstalled?

Yes it does, but the systems we are building for our clients have everything stripped off.
I am also sorta looking to build the Apple mDNS Responder as I need rendezvous on Windows, even though I realize that gcc can't build windows executables without all the headers. Does anybody have a build of the Apple open-source rendezvous stuff for Windows that they could make available? Can SourceForge build Windows executables? I seriously doubt that I could upload Apple's source there for compiling - or could I?
EDIT: Nevermind - SourceForge doesn't build Windows executables.
