I've been assigned to compare the six major OS X browsers for a news site, and the article will most likely be picked up by MacNN and other Mac news sites.
I'd like to ask everyone in the forum to please download every OS X browser you can find at VersionTracker.com to ensure you have the most recent (including also Phoenix from the Mozilla site, which is not on VersionTracker) and put them through their workouts.
Please let me know in as much detail as possible the strengths and weaknesses of each browser. I want this article to be as comprehensive and representative of the entire Mac community as possible, because my own emphasis would most likely be focused on Unicode as well as proper Japanese, Chinese, and Hebrew text-handling rather than what interests the majority.
Clearly, there will also be some conflict due to personal preference, needs, and perceptions. For example, although most of us feel the Chimera icons are by far the most attractive, others actually prefer the Omni GUI instead. Much of it also has to do with what people are used to using each day for months, especially when they don't give each browser the chance of a few weeks of trial use. Often, features that feel awkward at first end up being what you prefer after a few days or weeks of use.
Let's give browser developers a detailed feedback of comparisons that will motivate them to improve their implementation of features and fixing of the most prevalent/prominent bugs.
