Seeking a good book that has a catalog of common database patterns i.e., schemas for: a reservation systems, online shopping, banking etc.

I'm not expecting complete solutions; I'm only looking for starting points for the designs of a variety of systems.

I've never heard of a book like this. However, if you need a specific schema, you could download an open source project implementing that schema and look at the SQL.

Thanks for the post. I remember seeing a book that had something pretty much as I described it above. I was just wondering if anyone had encounter it or some other.

In regards to the Opensource approach, I had not thought of that. I will take a look and see.
