Inability to install Dec 2002 Dev Tools

I'm currently trying to install the Dec 2002 developer tools, but the installer keeps crashing (either a kernel panic or a freeze, depending on which time I installed it) about midway through the installation.

I previously had the Dev tools that came with Jaguar installed. I've also tried installing while logged in as root.

I'm running a Dual 1GHz G4, 1 GB RAM, OS X.2.4.

Any help?

Repeated kp/freeze would indicate the possibility of broken hardware. Try verifying that your RAM is all good and your HD connectors are firmly seated etc.
