I'm trying to put on some simple GIF counters on my web site (simple html using Dreamweaver MX. HOW? From the downloading to the posting. Is this supposed to be hard?

A counter needs a data store. You need some place to keep the current count, and a script to increment it. Historically this has been done with a CGI. You can't really implement a stateful counter with plain HTML.

You could do a search for free hit counters on google if you don't want to write your own. Otherwise, you could create a simple counter in a variety of different ways.
