Hi!
I've been throught many forums to find people having the same problem... I couldn't find any info.
Here's the problem:
I have a site using frames. A top frame is used for navifation between pages.
In those pages there are quite heavy images.
When you load a page the image loads progressively from top to down.
If you interupt the image download by going to another page and come back to the first page again, the image will look as when you stopped it (you will have half of it for example).
you can have a look to try out what I'm talking about.. http://jedconseil.dyndns.org/frameloggia.html (it's no advertisement just to show my problem)

I've tryed sevaral things such as preloading images or prevent from using cache for the pages (which would have not been a very good solution).. but nothing worked.

Please help me.. what am I doing wrong?

Sophie.

hmm. IE. i remember it well. i haven't used it properly since Safari came out. i'd forgotten all about it's little quirks.

i don't think you're doing anything wrong, i think it's just IE being... IE.

i know you said "the image loads progressively from top to down", but are they actually progressive jpegs? have you tried exporting them as that? it's just something else to try. i can't think of a way to get it to play fair, if you've already tried the no-cache stuff. sorry

That's unfortunately the answer I also came to... and can't seem to get any walk around...
My problem is that I'm developping this site for someone else who will not be very happy of the answer.... :-(
In fact I doubted that it was juste IE because I couldn't find anyother person complaning about this in any other forum...
And in another way, there is a possibilitry in IE mac menu for reloading all the images which doesn't exist on windows IE... so that might be for a reason...

Well... still thanx a lot for answering.

Have a nice day.

Sophie.

Or you can learn to tell it not to cache images or check for new versions...
