Sorry man, but I think I speak for every college student who says YES!!!!!! I can FINALLY go!!!!

WWDC is always over finals for me and I can go this year!

Not many students I know can afford a plane ticket to to san francisco, let alone the $1300 to register. Of course, I'm in Canada.

On a somewhat related note,

Moving to June ensures that every developer will leave the event with a copy of Panther in their hands.
is it customary for Apple to send student developers copies of new OS releases? I'd really like it if they'd mail me a copy of panther so I didn't have to buy it.. they sent me jaguar when I joined (despite the fact I already got it with my new computer).

This was actually good news to me. I don't have any exams anymore, but I write on a project that has to be finished by June. With WWDC in May the schedule was getting a little tight. But I feel the pain of those who have already bought their plane tickets.

Looking forward to SF in June! I won a scholarship. Life is great!

Maybe this is good for American college students, but the change means that it is now DURING final exams for us Australians. I guess that the AUC scholarships this year are now totally useless...

I'm trying to decide if I should go to WWDC or not. I frankly did not expect to get the scholarship, but I did, and I think it's great. However, I don't know if paying for a week long hotel and airfare will be worth what I'd learn/who I'd meet there.

Does anyone have any opinion what it would be like for a just-finished first year college guy to go? I'm majoring in computer engineering, but I haven't taken a lot of the courses, though I know my courses won't really be Apple-specific like this conference. I've always loved Apple hardware, and I think I would be interested in working for Apple, and at the very least working for a company who supports Apple stuff. I'm just not sure if I should spend the money to get myself down there or not, if it would be worth both a week of my time and my hundreds and hundreds of dollars to attend.

Thoughts?

This is my problem. I already bought my airplane tickets! I don't mind flying into San Jose in June. What I mind is that I don't think I can go the week of the 23rd, so my plane tickets are a COMPLETE WASTE!!!

I don't know who to compalin about this. Did you know that the WWDC schedule for 2004 and 2005 was announced earlier this year?! What the hell is going on?!

I was just waiting for this complaint, and it's a complaint that makes me myself question going. It's very, very odd for a company to reschedule an event like this. I mean, this has been planned for a long time, and rescheduling it, not even just a month later but in a completely different locale seems just plain irresponsible to me. I imagine Apple and/or San Jose had big problems with the other party. Very odd. And it makes me question Apple's competance on this particular matter... I also didn't get an email I was supposed to get, which made me quite worried...
