I installed 10.2.5 today and was then unable to launch project builder (The application Project Builder has unexpectedly quit.). I deleted /Developer and reinstalled them from the Dec2002 Dev Tools CD and WebObjects from CD and the WO update from the web just to make sure I didn't have a corrupted copy. The problem continued. I noticed that when I removed the following items, PB will launch, but without their functionality:

/Developer/ProjectBuilder Extras/Plug-ins/ASKDebuggerPlugin.pbplugin
/Developer/ProjectBuilder Extras/Plug-ins/ASKDictionaryPlugin.pbplugin
/Developer/ProjectBuilder Extras/Plug-ins/ASKPlugin.pbplugin

because removing these items makes PB lose functionality, I hope this will only be a temporary workaround.

I do not have another Mac to test this on, so I do not know if it is reproducible on another machine, but it happens every time on this machine (12"PB 867/640/60/SD/AP)

Has anyone else had this problem? Or does anyone have any insight why those particular plug-ins would stop PB from launching?

Many Thanks,
John Douthat

I don't know what's going on with your machine, but PB runs just fine on my 700MHz iBook with 10.2.5.

PB works fine for me on an iBook 800, a G4 Sawtooth, and a G4 Quicksilver all running 10.2.5.

Apparently, then, it's just you. Perhaps your preferences have become corrupted. Try deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ProjectBuilder.plist

Maybe you're not paying your preferences enough, if they're becoming corrupt.
