I'm a CS student, and this term I'm taking a computer architecture class that requires me to code x86 assembly language. Is there an easy way for me to do this on my iBook? Or should I just ssh into my school's linux servers?

Just ssh into your school's linux servers.

Or tell them you want to learn PPC assembly instead ;-P

PPC assembly, alas, is much harder, and not well-suited to teaching. Regardless: If you ran Virtual PC or Bochs you could do the x86 emulation thing...

Would it be a correct assertion to say that my iBook has a 128-bit instruction code instead of the 32-bit instruction code used in the x86 architecture?
Just for curiosity, does anyone have an instruction breakdown for the 128-bit PPC architecture? ie.. 8-bit opcode, 8 bit p1, etc...
