How can we get an api for iPod programming? Can we swamp apple w/ requests? I mean, this latest thing of releasing new iPods with different software options (customizable menus/different games) just bugs me. I can't get it out of my head! I want an API to develop simple iPod apps! How do we get it going?

there is no known easy way (i.e. non assembly) to do so.

Go the route the TI calculator scene went. Hack it out

I think the linux on ipod project will be the best route. I just wish they had a mac port so I coudl start mucking around. Eventually, someone will write a good "gui" for the linux kernel. And then people could store apps just on the HD, and the "gui" could be a loader, and load the programs. So people could write games, etc, etc.
