I'm trying to knock up a pretty simple page in DW MX, using layers (for the first time).

I want to have a layer that is smaller than it's contents (text), so the user scrolls the layer. It works fine when previewed in IE5, but no good in Safari.

I was under the impression that Safari was bang up to date re: web standards... Am I missing something simple here, or is it a no-go?

According to the Macromedia help online, Netscape can have this problem, and inserting a 'p' tag or deleting margin settings solves the issue. I've tried that but to no avail. Having said that, I'm a strictly wysiwyg designer and don't know one end of my 'p' tag from the other... so I could well have ovelooked something there!!

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if it is do-able, and how to go about it. Thanks.

I'm doing it entirely in the 'design' view, so I've no idea about what's happening in the background - I'm a coding virgin. The layer is in a DIV tag as opposed to SPAN. I'm afraid I haven't a clue what an ilayer is.

OK thanks for that - at least I can channel my thoughts into alternatives now!
