Has anybody experienced long saving file and updating HTML time in Imageready 7? My gf is having this issue with her ibook 800mhz maxout ram. It is not the mac cuz it runs slow on my imac 800mhz 17"fp too. The only reasone I can think of is that she has many slices in the file (about 30+) Is it the cause of the long saving time and long updating HTML time? Is there any option we can turn off so it will take less time? Please help! It is very frustrating to work on the page for 5 mins and wait another 20 mins to save. and I mean it really does take 20 mins to save a 30+ slices file.

that's wild, 30 slices shouldn't matter at all, what size and optimisation settings do you have and what version of imageready is it?

well there should be no need for jpeg setting of 80 if its for the web only, 40-50 should be fine, also the text layers may not help dependant on the fiddliness of the font, try making a copy of each of the text layers, rasterising the copy and then exporting with just the rasterised layers on.

How jiggy is she with her slices? You know every slice can be optimized independly, be animated, and have roll-overs -- and each one of those can be based on multiple layer visibility.

My other question is, is IE her default browser, and is IE the default app for .html files? IE is the real beachball spinner in my set-up but I use it occasionally since it's most similar to windbloze systems in behaviors. If IE is the default browser, the files may be writing quickly from IR, IE is just slow in launching the hand-off of the HTML page. I know I hate IE's slow launch, and changed camino to be the default .html app -- and things speaded up nicely.

I occasionally use Imageready on my ibook, I haven't noticed a slow down strictly with IR.
