I just published this design today...however, I noticed that with MSIE 5.x on the Mac the navigation menu does not appear at all. The site functions as it should on OmniWeb, Safari, and Camino. Can anyone confirm this problem?

Also, I need to ESPECIALLY know if this site works fine on Windows (under any browser).

Thanks.

After staring at code and poking around for about an hour...it was something as simple as this:

I needed to resize the window to get the pull-down menu to appear (funny, the menu always appears in other browsers).

Is this some sort of bug with MSIE 5.x, or something with my code? Obviously I have no problems with the other browsers.

in general i like the site only a couple things...

seriously consider what the intro adds to the site. If you keep it at least add a NON-flash skip button for people who don't have flash.

In windows the top picture covers the entire top. this means that word "beyond" is covered up by the navication pulldown.

on your photo galleries: is there any reason not to make those headings links?
it seems much simpler then the second pull down.

on the "Who Am I" page you may want to force the text to start below the picture. at the size of my browser window i end up with about 1 word per line looking very cramped next to the picture.

just some suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions...keep them coming.

1. The Flash Intro: I realized that the Skip button does not appear for very long, so I went ahead and added another skip link (non-Flash).

2. Pull down menus: I thought for the weblog and photo gallery sections it would be much easier to have pull downs than actual links...especially if I add even more sections. If I add links to the photo gallery it means I have to add a row of links on the bottom of every page in there, and THEN do the same for the weblog otherwise it wouldn't look right.

I dunno...

3. I designed this site on a late 2001 iBook, which as we all know has a 1024x768. I assumed that the browser window would be fully open and covering the entire desktop. If I make the window smaller, only then will the menu cover up the "Beyond."

This might also explain why the text seems cramped on the other pages with the images.

Would the navigation menu be out of the way if you went nearly fully screen with the browser, and have at least 1024x768? (On Windows I meant)

In the past, I would see my site on the large Apple displays, and it would look funny, so I tried to accommodate them as much as I could in this design (that's why the images such as on the Who Am I page are larger).

the navigation bar is off of the beyond when my browser is full screen (1024 x 768) at much less (i'd estimate much below 100 px wide) it begins to cover up the arrow.
