Take a look at my school's (I'm a teacher, not a student) new site that I put together. Any problems, suggestions?

Thanks!

I really like the home page design. One thing however, is on the successive pages, you need to include some type of navigation, even if it's only text links at the bottom. It's a pain to simply go to the next page, or go back to the home page and then to a new page. Make it as easy as possible to navigate to any page... from any page.

The blue circle on the left side feels empty. Putting a blurb / mission statement there would fill up the page a little more.

A good start, I'd say. My thoughts:

1) Lots of dead links.
2) Navigation issues already mentioned.
3) Will has a point about the front page. Words or a pic might help. Or, the links could wrap around the edge of the curve.
4) If you add a little styling to the pages through css it might make them look a little sharper. Subtle background, altered link colors, etc. I only mention this because compared to the logo, which is quite bright and colorful, the rest of the page tends to look drab.

Building a site can be overwhelming. Good work so far.
We need less Democrats and Republicans, and more people that think for themselves.

I'd say definitely what the others are saying. If you wrapped the contents so they followed the edge of the curve, I think it'd look a bit better. And also, but maybe this is just me, I think the Made on a mac could be a bit more subtle. Maybe just the apple logo or smaller.

edit, ok... you can do much better than this, but here's my 2 minute-made suggestion, or something like that...

Even better then text would be to have an animated picture which changed every 10-20 seconds.

having some content on the main page would really flesh it out

Thanks for the advice.

As for the suggestions with the navigation, there is a cookie crumb trail on all secondary and tertiary, etc. pages under the page name in small print. But since you guys didn't find it, my user probably won't either. I'll try to come up with something.

I like the wrapping the text idea and the image idea. The text I will work on immediately. The images will have to wait until I get some good enough! How would I wrap the text? I'm not up for CSS quite yet and being that school starts in 4 days, I'm not up for cramming to do it!!

The "Made with a Mac" is pure propaganda.

As for the main page's lack of content, I went with a book I read on usability that suggested that the front page simply take them to the info they wanted. I went with a clean, almost minimalist look. I like the flash slide show, I'll think about incorporating that later this semester.

Thanks again!

Not a bad design. My one recommendation is valid HTML (I'm becoming a real HTML jerk these days... all new html is valid, old stuff is being replaced).
I always use protection when fscking my Mac... Do you?
