This may seem like a stupid question but I can't seem to figure how to create a button with an icon in it similar to those like in Mail or a beveled button with an icon in it.

I have a tiff image that I created and can't seem to understand how to place the image on the icon.

I believe the "buttons" you're referring to in Mail are toolbar items. But to set a button's icon, you just type in the name of the image in the button's "Icon" field. It only works with certain types (basically those which can naturally fit an image into their shape).

Another way, is to add all the icon files to PB
that is:

PB > Project > add files...

(I dropped them under the main group)

After that, fire up IB. The icons you added show up in the "images" tab in IB.

From there you can just drag and drop them onto the target buttons.

This way works for me. if I just update the icon field in the inspector panel, well... nothing happens. Could be related to my version of the Dev Tools (the latest).
