September 15th has come and gone, and where is XCode? The latest thing available for regular ADC developers is the GCC 3.3 updater for G5 development that was posted 6 days ago. Apple said XCode would be available on September 15th, so where is it?

Has XCode been delayed, or is it only available to Select and Premier developers? Even though it was introduced with Panther, I have sort of been led to believe that Xcode would also be compatible with Mac OS X 10.2.x, since the XCode developer preview was compatible with 10.2.x.

There were two XCode developer preveiws, one for Jaguar and one for Panther. Other than that, I have no idea.

According to the Xcode project manager, the 9/15/03 date that was included in the dev notes for the WWDC build was erroneous.

Xcode will only run on Panther and thus won't be released until Panther is released.

The Jaguar build was only for testing purposes.

Lame. I guess I'll have to deal with things like not being able to syntax check files within PB without compiling for a few more months then.

Do you have a link to this? I'll be getting 10.3 anyway, but it's really dissapointing that I can't use it for a few months before then, to adjust to things. Looks like I waited for nothing.

So is XCode worth the wait? I heard some mix reviews but these where pretty close to WWDC so I'm guessing that it should be in better shape now.

Just FYI, you can download the August 2003 compiler update from Apple now, which includes GCC 3.3 and the G5 optimizations.

This is not XCode per se (not the IDE anyway), but it includes most of the underlying improvements.
