I'm making a small website for my video work to impress colleges and the like.
Click my sig to see the site. I'm not sure what i'm going to do with the left and right bars... I thought about putting stuff there, but since the site is so small, I think I'll just leave them as "decoration". Is this ok?

Nice design. I wouldn't put anything content in the left and right sections, it will be too busy. It's completely fine to leave them the way they are.
You may want to consider some more visual separation between the main site text and the smaller column to the right. You could give the one on the right a light grey background, or make the two have different font sizes. Right now, although I clearly understand that they are separate sections, visually it's hard to understand which one is more important or the focus.

Excellent suggestions York28, thank you. I'll implement it as soon I get a chance to work on the site.
I was also thinking about putting the entire content into an iframe, that way the site will stay nice and compact (I spent a long time getting the entire table to stretch downwards). That way I can make the entire thing one size and have the user scroll through the content. What do you think?

I updated the site and added a test "video" section. What do you guys think?

Hey that big bang thing was pretty good. Glad you found a Lexus somewhere. Well, you are back here and posting now.

Thanks guys for the kind reviews. The design is complete and I'm working on the content now (though I plan to remove the iFrame from the Video section when I add more movies).

Sorry, but I can't find your signature. Is there something wrong with my browser, or is it missing at this moment?

The original post is over two months old, so I would say it has gone by now.
