I use Freeway Pro by
Softpress but for home use, and probably more suitable for your family, there is Freeway Express. Whilst the two apps are very similar the reason I suggest Express is that the price is more appealing to hobbyists and beginners. The features only found in the Pro version *tend* to be more geared towards pros, but if the price difference doesn't bother you then Pro is the way to go. And the Graphics FAST pack is a really boon, highly recommended.
Do bear in mind the Freeway is an HTML generator and not an HTML editor. Simply, this means that you just let Freeway worry about the code. You can include code snippets if you wish, but in a different way than you do in other web editors. But for your family I doubt code is important.
Check out the demo and follow the tutorial carefully to get accustomed to how it works. You'll be up and running in no time. Its methodology is very straight forward and designed for the user to create a site in a very intuitive way. And when your are ready you just mount your iDisk and file copy from Freeway to the sites folder.
There is also a very friendly and helpful community of Freeway users on the mailing list and web forum. Even if you are using the demo we will still help and answer any questions.
A great app, do check it out. Hope this helps.
