HI -- I am just experimenting with home page and created my first page last night. I was trying to show it to one of my kids, using my laptop, but I keep getting a "page cannot be found" message. BUT -- it works fine on the PC and I ALSO can see it on the laptop, if I use Explorer, instead of Safari.

Question -- why on earth is this happening. Is there some sort of "Safari-only" setting I have wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

That said -- this whole web page thing is kind of fun...

Which computer is hosting it? Depending on where you put your files, when accessing the site from another computer you'll need to type either the IP address of the hosting computer, or the IP/~username

i.e.
192.168.2.3/
or
192.168.2.3/~bbales

If this doesn't help give us more info about the machines.

The Mac desktop is hosting it. So I sort of understand what you mean about the IP address, EXCEPT that I can view the page on my laptop, if I use Explorer and not Safari. And the PC can view it, too -- using Explorer, of course.

Is that enough info?

That's very strange. Are you using Safari 1.0? I'm currently at a loss on this one..I'll keep thinking about it though.

Yes, it's the updated Safari. Someone on the Apple pages suggested emptying the cache. I'll try that when I next use the laptop.
