I just thought I'd pimp the service I just wrote - which will tag selected text.

You can find out more <a href="http://www.monkeyfood.com/software/taggingservice/">here</a>

Maybe I missed something on the site you designed, but what exactly is the point? It saves you a few keystrokes but I don't see the benefit, really. img: instead of <.IMG>? I'm not trying to diss your software, I respect that you've created something, I'm just a little foggy as to what it's going to do for me.

I just got bored of closing tags - with the service you just type the opening part and the closing tag is added to the end of the selection.

The Keyboard shortcut of Command-Shift-\ tends to speed things up a bit. I find I can tag selections faster this way.

Also I can select a huge chunk of existing HTML and mark it-up with a div, p, td or anything. I find it easier to do this with the mouse than jumping the caret around with the keys. I find it faster to select (accurately) large chunks with the mouse than the keys. Especially if it the chunk in question is within a bigger paragraph.

Of course maybe the service just does not fit your style of coding. (which is ok!)

One of the uses I find most useful is when you have the URL of an image in the pasteboard.

type img: , paste, select it then press Command-Shift-/

Well maybe I'll give it a try, in that case. I am impressed by your response, no negativity! I'll give it a go on the new project I just got
