I just bought Panther and I am curious - one of the disks is labelled "Xcode Tools" - is this equivalent to the Developer Tools of the past, or is Apple going to release a separate Developer Tools release soon?

In other words, do I need to install the Developer Tools from 12/2002 or does XCode include all of the stuff I need?

I am still at work so I haven't been able to install it yet, but I have been curious about this for a while.

XCode is Panther's dev tools. You don't need to install anything from earlier OS CDs.

Good to know. I can't live without make, etc, for very long, so it is good that they are there.
