we're currently struggling with a plaintext textview in our app: we just can't seem to eliminate the "style" and "format" entries in the various menus (edit, context).
wahtever we do, these entries remain, though they won't change the text attributes (that's ok, but they shouldn't be there in the first place).
now i dug around a bit and found that SubEthaEdit has the same problem. its contextmenu shows "bold, underlined", but there's no change upon selection.
also, while typing this in safari, i see that i can suddenly bolden the text i'm currently typing. nonsense, if you ask me, as this should be a plaintext entry...
in textedit, plaintext mode, these format options are also there, and they will change the WHOLE text.
what's up with that?
any hints, thoughts, ideas?
we really need to get rid of these entries in our app...
