i have seen a few posts here before about Gallery, but i was unable to find what i was looking for. i was wondering if any of you have set up a gallery on your web space using this software/PHP application or whatever it is referred to as.
http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.p...amp;file=index
how did you get it to work properly? i can never get past the step when i need to chmod files and create .htaccess. if i create that it becomes an invisible file.

you only touch the .htaccess file and then change the chmod because you're making the file writable with the setup php page. if the .htaccess chmod is open it can reset things, if not, the setup page will be locked out. you can view . (dot) file with the -l (minus L) switch like: ls -l
hope this helps you.

oops... I mean to say the -a switch like posted below...

if you use Transmit as your FTP application, you can have it set to show hidden (dot) files. otherwise, as said above me, use terminal to see them: ls -al
