I want to try and build a Keynote like app. One where you can drop boxes onto the canvas and resize/reposition them. Can somebody point me to a good link to any examples ?
And the draw boxes wigets, is this open source in developer, like the GUI builder is ? Or was this Apple created close source code much like Final cut pro is.?
I have plans to make a WYSIWYG thing for web design on the low end market. Copuled with the safari live render webkit it could be good magic.
From my past 40 hours a week on reading the cocoa documentation, I believe that you will need to build most of it yourself. You might want to try and build some smaller programs if this is your first one... Trust me on that! Also, do a search for different Mac specific websites with code examples. You will find many fine sites.
I like just fighting for the big stuff. But if the code is not open then I would have to start from scratch so it would truly take to long, but I will look at the draw program again that comes in the developer tools.
I was just hopeing that that part of the GUI creation was avalible. I have used the static GUI design program before that was really neat that is where I thought that that system could be used in a user creation engine . Follow me ?
Now for the WYSIWYG thing. I have been told that it would be FAR to complicated to work from several sources. So I rethought my idea some what . Instead of wasteing to much time to make boxes work from scratch, you could load in a CSS html page. And from there in the WYS... part it would render as usual but this time you could reposition the boxes in the WYS... This could instead just "help" in redesigning the site. Like fine tuning .
