If I were to entertain the idea of excepting money for my .Com
What do you think it would be worth??
I have not responded to their email yet and I probably will not, but just out of curiosity[SP?] does it have any value?
Would the value depend on what the other person intends to do with the domain?
Somepeople have pointed out that Slaveway would be great for a BDSM type site.
BDSM = Bondage, Domination, Submission, M=???
Really kinky stuff.
OR
It could be my employeer trying to get its hands on my domain through a third party.
Any thoughts, ideas??

Well, the question is not what it's worth to them, but what it's worth to YOU? How hard would it be to replace it? How much do you have invested in the name (time and money)? For my domain, I'd have to spend a LOT of time going around changing my email address in 100 places, so it's pretty valuable to me.

I would say it's very valuable to me. I have invested almost 3 years of time and money turning
it into a very popular and personaly rewarding website.
I just wish google would let me use their adsense program on my message board so I could hopefully break-even.

The old board on EZboard was running about $100.00 for 6 months.
Why not use a free message board such as phpbb? Save some bucks.

A relative of mine was approached by an anonymous buyer back in '99. He thought it was a joke, so he made up a large number (in the thousands). Well, the company had some deep pockets, and the very next day sent over a lawyer with a contract to sign over the web address. He didn't learn who had bought it until about a month later. Then 3 months after that the company went under due to the bursting of the 'net bubble.
The point: sometimes amazing things do happen :-)
