Hi all.

I'm interested in learning more about Search Engine rankings, and how to improve a site's ranking. The marketing firms talk about keyword frequency, page titles, links, and other stuff. I'm familiar with those concepts in the sense that I've been doing web dev. work for several years, but I'd like to find a few sources on the web that will teach what the "experts" claim to know.

I'd like to learn how to optimize a web page for Google. How would I go about assessing a page's keyword frequency?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions of web pages, discussions boards, or online content that teaches webmaster strategies for search engines.

Thanks :-)

-Ben

...this site has a lot of good information, and dispels alot of myths. i.e., meta keywords. Many people think these are the holy grail of search engine placement, when the truth is most search engines, including Google, completely ignore them.

Cheers,

James

One of the best tips I've heard is to make good content. Good content makes a good site. A good site gets linked to. And a good site gets ranked high in Google. That's the crux of it.
