Hi,

I am interested in writing a contextual menu (in Carbon) and I was wondering if anyone has any tips about debugging it. To test it, do I really need to compile it, put it in my Contextual Menu Items folder and log back in everytime? I hope there is a better way. I am very comfortable with Obj-C and Cocoa, but very new to Carbon.

Thanks for reading and for any useful tips.

I can't give you any contextual menu or carbon specific hints, but Xcode should be able to put the built file wherever you want it when it is done building. I've never needed to do this, but I have seen options about it in some of the build specific settings.

Thanks.

I realized that because a contextual menu item is a plugin bundle, it gets loaded each time you right click on application for the first time. With this, I was able to test it with an app, like Text Edit without having to log-in and out.
