Sorry to bother everyone again, but I am trying to learn and have missed this somewhere (i did search, but perhaps i just do not know the correct search terms) and came up with blank: how do i create the UI? will i have to code it all? or is there something similar to how the Visual series of IDE's from MS that focuses more on the tweaking of appearance than getting the code out? either way is fine, just thought i would ask before i started trying to create it all by hand. :-)

For what kind of app? Native programs can use Interface Builder to make nibs. For Java programs or other cross-platform applications, there are lots of other cross-platform solutions.

cocoa native. . .do i find it in my developer folder? or is it a separate installation? will that also work for carbon (which means os 9/x compatibility, right?)

thanks for the help!

Interface Builder works for Carbon programs, but I don't know that it works for Carbon programs that will run on OS9 (I'm not a Carbon programmer). It's right next to XCode in the developer folder.

No offense, but I think you can answer this one yourself just by clicking on the Developer folder and looking at the screen.

It is possible to create nib-based Carbon apps. As for OS 9 compatibility — Interface Builder Services is supposed to be available through CarbonLib 1.1, so I suppose it's theoretically possible to have a nib-based OS 9 app, but I don't know of a single one and Xcode can't create CFM binaries.

I think you should have created a new thread for that.

Why would you want to lock the person in? That's rather stupid, if you ask me. There are some ways to do this, but I need to know what you want to use them for before I reveal them to someone like you.
