Dear all,
It's not really a question, but an idea for some reflection.
There is a lot of online resources about development on Macintosh. A lot of them are of good quality. And we all agree that is by making good new programs (open-source, freeware, shareware, commercial) that we will improve the attractiveness of our plateform (MacOSX).
But there is still a lack; it's hard to find other people (developer, graphist, documentation writer, ...) to work on common projects. Of course, it exists some open-source support platform like sourceforge, but nothing which is specifically targeted to the Macintosh.
There is also not a lot of place (except in some forums...) for the end-user to express their needs or programs which could lead to a new shareware for example.
That's why I'm currently looking if there is need for such a platform.
The offered services will not support the developement process (cvs, homepage, bug-tracking) because there is a lot of site doing that, but the step before : building synergies and teams.
I have tried to synthesis the previous points in a document available online (sorry for the english mistakes, but I have translate if from French quite quickly) :
OpenOffice version :
http://homepage.mac.com/emblica/macAlliance_EN.sxi
PDF version :
http://homepage.mac.com/emblica/macAlliance_EN.pdf
It's just the begining of the reflection, so it's a draft.
Maybe it already exists such a site, but I doesn't know it.
I would be glad to hear your opinions, comments and critics.
(If there is a deep interest of someone, there is the possibility do discuss much in detail during a chat.)
