Okay, my guess is going to be that the answer is

"no, shoo"

But is there a way to have an applet write to the files in it's directory? Like if I put a Java applet game on my webserver, could I have it write to that directory as well?

Bracing for impact,

Okay the short answer is no. The long answer is that you can write some kind of server side cgi app to supply the information. But, that's probably more complicated than you're looking for.
