All,

I'm starting on some software that I'd like to incorporate a syncing technology into (essentially, what Apple has done with iCal syncing across Macs, etc).

Does Apple have any iSync API/interface? I don't think they do based on some quick research, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious. Anyone know if they have plans to allow developers to use iSync for their own products?

If not, does anyone know of any good documentation or source code (any language) that has some good data on creating a tool with secure sync capabilities?

TIA

There will be a Sync Services API in Tiger. The iSync API is not public in Panther and earlier.

Thanks for the info. Is this information available on "online" ADC members or must I be a paying member to get info on it? (Haven't gotten that far yet obviously)

Through official channels the only thing that non-seeding members (Apple's chosen few) or people who were not at WWDC (to get the Tiger Preview DVD) would know about tiger is on Apple's Tiger Preview page. This particular bit of information happesn to be on a preview page (look at the last paragraph), and has also been on the rumors pages, so even if you don't have a Tiger DVD, you could get it (unofficially).

This information was also made available as part of the WWDC Session Descriptions page. See http://www.cocoadev.com/index.pl?SyncServices.

Any more detailed information than that (documentation, SDK, etc) is presumably under NDA.
