When I export my site it says export complete and successful but when I go to my destination the folder isn’t there it didn’t export anything. (I can do a file Search of my hard drive and nothing comes up) The odd time it will export just the folder but there will be nothing in it.
What can I do…Do I have to start my site over again…I am freaking out!
This last try the program crashed
PS- I have all the latest updates (Go Live 6.0.1)
Please Help
Thanks so much

It's been a while since I have used GoLive (well, back from before Adobe bought it, and it was called GoLive Cyberstudio), however I wonder why you would need to 'export' your site as such?
Wouldn't you be working on the html files on your hard drive anyway? Where are they? 'Export' makes it sound more like MS Word Export to HTML, rather than a website, whereby 'save' should have your site in useable form....

I don’t think you can just grab those files as you say anymore because those files are locked by Adobe. I shouldn’t say locked but all their code is in it making it unreadable by a browser. I don’t know maybe I am wrong, I Hope someone proves me wrong.
In GoLive 6 you go File>Export>site and it is supposed to remove all the GoLive code or what ever (extract all the html) and place it in a folder of my choice. Then I upload to my server using Fetch. (When I try going straight from GoLive it says Error 257 or something)
On that note I got it to work by downloading GoLive CS Demo, CS exported it like normal with out a hitch. But that means I have to upgrade to GoLive 7 which is a real pain.
Unless anyone knows how to fix this or has a solution. I just don’t understand this… why should I have to pay to upgrade to CS just to export my site that I have spent hours on.
Thanks for the Help

Hurray! You ARE wrong None of those files are 'locked' or unusable - they are quite normal HTML files.
You can simply drag those files across from your site to the FTP folder - there's nothing about golive-specific code that will render it unusable in browsers. Using 'export' can simply remove comments, whitespace and any unused code.
As to why GL6 is giving you the problem... Who the hell knows! It is a mysterious beast sometimes...
What I would do is remove the file with the extension '.site' and then use the 'create a new site from existing folder' to re-import all your files, then manually fix/update your site preferences from scratch. It may be another 10-15 mins work that could save you a heap of time later. Please backup that folder before you do this, though, JUST IN CASE!!!
I would upgrade to 7 if you can - there's many small fixes that make it a whole better program to use.

Well I tried dragging those files from the site and out to a Folder but none of my images came along even if I don’t move the files from the site. I just open it with a browser the images don’t come up, which got me thinking that GoLive is leaving its codec in the file? (I make sure the images folder is there)
But Deleting the .site folder seemed to work it exported fine after that I never even thought to try that. You forget about these things when something is wrong and you are Freaking out. It was late I should have went to bed and started fresh in the morning. I felt like I was back on a wintel machine and something I had spent hours on wasn’t opening or something. I HATE THAT FEELING!
Golive is such a funny program it has all these little quarks in it that make you wonder. You can do something in your site no problem the next day no way. I feel I am always chaseing gremlins or something when using this program. Going to 7 I Hope is the answer
Thank you so so much Simon it is such a relief to know my work wasn’t in vein
Piece
