i have a great CSS dropdown menu (from suckerfish at a list apart)
but now i need to add a SUB-submenu.
check http://www.mauiwedding.net/dropdown/09/ to see what i mean.
i need the "receptions" menu under "services" to become another submenu expanding to the right. (just like how you rollover the "services", it needs to rollover "receptions", and expand to another menu)
any thoughts? i tried just about everything i could imagine with the CSS and the id="" 's of the menu...

What you have looks nice so far.
If you do a search for the Suckerfish menu examples at A List Apart, there are a dozen pages of comments, many of which link to working nested CSS menus like you're building.

Like CaptainHaddock said [why do I suddenly feel like I'm in a comic book???], what you have looks very good. I don't know how far you are, design-wise, in the developing of the site, but I thought I'd just give you two little comments on the menu that's there already:
1. The pictures that you use for "about", "locations", and "order" don't change when hovered over. Also, the background colour of the "about" picture is slightly different from the others.
2. Try using the Sliding Doors thingy for the menu points, it works better, since there's no waiting time while the browser loads the rollover image.
All in all these are, of course, minor little details, just thought I'd say it anyway
As for the sub-menu, it's way too early in the day for me to even think about that

.........and, er, on a windows box using IE 6.0, the "services" submenu splits between "receptions" and "prices" making it impossible to navigate past "receptions".
Edit: that would be the "prices", "tables", "chairs" and "placemats" submenu items that don't show up in Safari.

as for the design, it's pretty much set. the menu needs adjusting. (i'm not a fan for drop-down menus but it has to be implemented.) until this is figured out, the links are null.
IE, as you've seen, shows the menu all the way on the bottom and impossible to reach.
(That explains my eternal curse on IE) have no ida why that happens...
but that's the nested menu that's supposed to display when you :hover "receptions"
i've got (only) Safari to display the nested menu now, and will try to implement the sliding doors, thanks Olsn

OK, got it! works great now.
thanks for all your help. i didn't realize something as simple as this would be such a hassle!
i've got most of the browsers on win and mac to test, except windows IE 5.0 / 5.5 . does anyone know where i can download it? i've searched, i.e. (not THAT ie) downloads.com etc... can't seem to find a resource.
