so i'm very new to the developing community and have just enrolled in a cs class that teaches scheme. In our labs we write little apps and have them graded, pretty easy. My most recent lab I did not attend but have the ability to complete it on my own time. So, can anyone recommend an easy to use and free scheme interpreter? Thanks.

At UC Berkeley we use STk. It works fine in OSX.

In my programming languages class, we used DrScheme. We only spent a few weeks with Scheme, but it seemed to work fine in OS X.

scheme48 and DrScheme are available for Mac.
Here (at the birthplace of Scheme!) I found the most compatibility with DrScheme.

I used Dr.Scheme as well when I took a class that used Scheme. Congrats, you'll have lots of fun with it this semester.

I agree –_it's a great language and doorway to programming.
