I'm used to using Dreamweaver on the PC and I loaded it up for the first time on my new Mac and I can't find the "Edit HTML Source" window.

Plus, I tried the "View Source" option in Safari, but it wouldn't then let me edit the source, which it does on Windows.

How can I edit raw HTML within Dreamweaver, and do I need BBEdit?

In the view menu, you can switch from "design" view to "code" view. You can also use the Code Inspector, by hitting (F10).

Honestly though, you may be disappointed in the speed of Dreamweaver coming from the PC. Dreamweaver is great on PC, but for serious code hacking on the Mac, definitely take look into BBEdit or PageSpinner.

Be sure to download the update for MX 2004. It will help alot with speed.

To switch between views is nearly the same as on PC. When you have a file open, in the top pane of that file's window on the left side will be 3 buttons that say code, split, and design. These are the views. click on code to change to code view and edit the HTML code.
