Hi all,

I am not much of a programmer, but ProjectBuilder was ok for me to use, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out XCode. First of all, I am making a very basic java app and everything I make a new project, XCode starts to index which is VERY annoying. How do I turn that off? How can I make it a one window application from the very start? Also, when I compile my very basic java application (text only), I know that I have some errors in it, but Xcode refuses to show me any errors under the "Errors and Warning" panel. When I click Run, it says "unable to access a1.jar file" and exists with status 1.

Can anyone PLEASE show me preferably with pictures how to make a simple hellow world application in java with XCode. It is aggravating me. Thanks.

Start a new Java Tool project and it will be 'Hello World!' by default. Base your work off of that and make sure you have Xcode 1.5 and you should be good to go. For single window interface, you need to 'Toggle Embedded Editor' in the View menu. There are also some settings in the general preferences.
